Drupal 9 is just around the corner and currently scheduled to release on June 3rd, 2020

Regardless of whether you’re upgrading from Drupal 7 or Drupal 8 to 9, you will need to start planning for Drupal 9. The scheduled release is soon approaching and now is a good time to get prepared for it. Staying up to date is always a good option if you don't want to miss out on all the new features and enhancements that it will offer.

Two main things you will see to happen in Drupal 9 are:

  • ` The deprecated code will be removed before release
  • ` Dependencies version will be updated so that they can be supported

Remember that Drupal 8 reaches the end of life in November 2021 and will stop receiving any security fixes of updates. Also, going to Drupal 9 is an excellent opportunity to look at your legacy systems, audit them as well, and make sure your entire infrastructure is clean, fast, and free of roadblocks.
